Antequera and environment

Nearby Antequera are found the Mag-Aso Falls.From these waterfalls 197 steps lead down but it is very worthwhile. The really pleasant and clean, fresh water invites one to take a refreshing bath. A place for relaxing and enjoying a piece of the glorious nature on the island of Bohol.

Another very beautiful place is at the Inambacan Cave. A small cave with a particular ambience, Inambacan Cave invites the visitor to take a delightful swim and adventure. Here also is the entrance to an underground stream scholars have followed this subterranean brook for about 8 hours without arriving at its end. We followed the brook for only approx. 800 m., however it was an unforgettable experience. We were very impressed by the ancient stalactite formations. For an excursion of this kind we recommend you use waterproof lamps, strong footwear and sensible light protective headware (when the bats were alarmed by our lamps they deposited their panic on us, leaving us “striped”).

Beside the pretty church of Antequera, the market place is found. Here, very early on sunday mornings, local basket products are sold.
